HOW TO COLLECT
CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY!

Everybody knows you're supposed to collect Pokemon cards and Beanie Babies because "they'll be worth a lot someday." But if so many people are collecting them and keeping them in mint condition, how will they ever be rare and collectible in 20 years?? Then there's Champions of the Galaxy game items! First editions of our items had small print runs and few exist in Fine or better condition! Champions of the Galaxy has been around for 15 years and has become a wrestling game classic! And it's getting bigger than ever due to the internet and the new game box! So check out these collectibles and take your chances that Champions of the Galaxy items may be among the biggest collectibles of all when the dust clears!

The following information on collecting Champions of the Galaxy game items is from The Game Collector's Closet, an article reprinted in its entirety in GWF Promoter #43. Prices for game items are listed for Mint condition. Mint condition means PERFECT condition, looking clean with no surface wear, as if the items were brand new with no flaws. If you are buying, selling, or trading, keep in mind that values drop by 50% for Fine which means only minor imperfections upon close inspection, otherwise a nice desirable item. Fine game items may have been played and read, but were obviously done so very carefully. Items which clearly show their age and wear and may have some significant flaws (fingerprints, small tears or worn edges, bends or creases) are considered in Good condition and should have another 25% taken off the value. A pricing example would be for the first printing of a full set of 24 game cards in Mint ($250), Fine ($125), and Good ($62.50).

The above collectibles are not a comprehensive list and there may be other Champions of the Galaxy items of value to collectors that are not summarized below. We will try to keep this site updated. Please send us email if you have any information about other items that should be on this list or about the accuracy of pricing. To find items post a message at the Guestbook or visit fan web sites. Good luck! Thanks to David Morse for telling us about the Overkill playing card and Gregg Gitlin for information about the original game postcard. Thanks also to Michael Fasko for a first printing of the first game edition to use as a guide for this page.
