GALACTICON 2003 A ROUSING SUCCESS!
July 18-20, 2003!
Tom Filsinger raises the hands of the two finalists in the annual GWF Trivia Challenge! Rob Beaubien (left) and Pete Fusco (seated) had a memorable battle, but in the end Pete won it again for his second victory in a row and third in the last four years! He's the Ric Flair of GWF trivia!
Promoters celebrated the release of Legends of Wrestling with a party including speeches, balloons, and a sensational Legends cake! In fitting style, wrestling legend Johnny Valiant cut the first slice.
Tournaments were as hot as ever including the annual Canada Cup and several others. Unfortunately for newcomer, Endgame, he was unable to win any big tournaments...YET!
GWF artist, Hannibal King, signed autographs and drew characters by request at a local card shop on Friday and then was a big hit at GalactiCon 2003 on Saturday! Hannibal did nonstop drawings of bootleg characters for our creative game fans.
Johnny Valiant entertained promoters with his wrestling stories (one of his best was about Andre the Giant) and his incredible sense of humor! It's no wonder that Johnny is currently working as a stand-up comedian!
Several game fans showed up on Friday evening at the Jamestown Jammers baseball game for a buffet dinner. It was officially Filsinger Games Night at the ballpark and a good time was had by all (the Jammers even won the game...a rare occurence!).
GalactiCon 2003 featured several guests, including (from left to right) Diamond Vixxxen, Dangerous Johnny Diamond, and Evan Ginzburg. The threesome discussed the state of wrestling at a question-and-answer session.
