GALACTICON 2001:
THE RETURN OF CHUCK CARTER!

The feature event of GalactiCon 2001 was An Evening with Chuck Carter. Chuck told the inside story behind the drawings of some classic GWF playing cards, in this case Star Warrior and Thantos!
History was made at this convention as a new GWF character was created by the fans and drawn by Chuck! Here's Chuck hard at work drawing the character suggested by the fans in attendance. The result...
...will be a new GWF character! Here's Chuck posing with the new creation! The next step will be a refinement of the character and a finished drawing sometime after the con.
An annual treat at the beginning of GalactiCon is the popular dealer's room! Here are loyal GWF fans checking out the incredibly creative fan-created editions and cards that were available at the con.
Cory Olson (left) had a big weekend at GalactiCon 2001. He not only was the overall tournament winner, he also won the GWF Trivia Challenge! Here he's pictured in a trivia challenge match-up against last year's Trivia Challenge winner, Pete Fusco. Thanks to Pete Beck for the photo.
GWF fans carefully checked out the items available at the annual COTG auction. This was a special year as plenty of original art by Chuck Carter was available. The auction, as always, raises money to promote creativity in Jamestown schools.
