GWF STORYLINE The GWF (which stands for Galactic Wrestling Federation) is wrestling's cosmic home of the future. As described in the Introductory Box Set handbook, the GWF was founded late in the 21st century when space travel and colonization linked the cosmos. Talented wrestlers from all across the galaxy came together to battle in the GWF. Omega (from Cetus) and Morpheus (from Alderbaran) organized the GWF in 2074 and became bitter rivals in the early days of the federation. In the early days there were no heroes and villains and no battle lines drawn. All this changed when Thantos betrayed the Galaxian Code and created an alliance of evil wrestlers to challenge his former mentor, Omega. Ever since this action by Thantos, the GWF has been a battleground of two camps, the Galactic Heroes and the Galactic Villains. The action in the Introductory Box Set takes place in the year 2087 immediately following the breaking of the Galactic Code by Thantos. The behind-the-scenes feuds leading to the breaking of the Galactic Code by Thantos are the subject of the first Champions of the Galaxy comic book, written and drawn by Ed Davis and published by Triumph Comics. The comic book is recommended for new buyers of Champions of the Galaxy. GWF fight cards are scheduled all across the galaxy, but the main site is on a moon of Mars called Deimos. Deimos is a hollow sphere with a wrestling arena gravitationally floated in the middle. Wrestlers are teleported to the ring area by a beam of light. Millions of spectators watch live or via pay-per-view for the incredible GWF matches and feuds! The GWF has been a wildly active federation since 2087, with new game editions representing one year of GWF time. The early years of the GWF (prior to 2087) are featured in Classics game editions, as well as game editions for other wrestling federations such as the WGX and CPC. The cosmic mythology surrounding the GWF has become so intricate and realistic that official game handbooks, (The GWF Files series) have been released to organize the history and wrestlers in the GWF.
