THE GWF CONQUERS THE PITTSBURGH COMICON April 28-30, 2000!
As luck would have it, GWF artist Brian Bendis had his own booth right next to Filsinger Games! Brian is one of the hottest stars in comic books, but he took some time to visit the Filsinger Games booth and talk about the GWF with Tom. Check out Brian's work for Marvel on Daredevil and Spiderman.
Mick Foley gave the Champions of the Galaxy box set a good look at the con! Mick told Tom that he already knew about the game and would be happy to give it a plug. Thanks to Doug Conner for sending us this picture.
One of the great comic book artists of all time, George Perez, stopped by the Filsinger Games booth to visit with Tom. George has drawn many books for Marvel and DC, including the Avengers, JLA, and Fantastic Four! Is there a Perez drawn Special Edition card in the GWF's future?
It was scary when Tom Savini stopped by to visit Tom! Tom (Savini, that is) is a special effects wizard known for his work on Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. He has directed episodes of Tales From the Darkside and stars in Vampirates.
International recording stars, GWAR, stopped by at the Filsinger Games booth and who could miss them? Is there an idea for a Champions of the Galaxy character here?
GWF fan, Eric Dover, visited Tom and discussed plans for an upcoming visit by Tom to the comic book store owned by Eric. David Andrews (left) and Eric Dover are co-owners of Comic Adventures, located in Mansfield, Ohio. We hope our Ohio fans will be able to attend Comic Adventures when Tom comes to town!
